SBU’s Theater Program is a welcoming, nurturing program based in ensemble. The B.A. program in Theater offers small classes with plenty of individual attention & mentoring from working theater professionals with decades of experience in theater as well as screen & broadcast media. SBU’s program offers a diverse production season of classic & contemporary plays including new and devised works that resonate with the community & the world. Get on-stage & into technical production your first semester in two performance spaces! Our students regularly participate in USITT & the Kennedy Center/American College Theater Festival. SBU theater grads have interned at theaters including The Alley and ACT; attend graduate & conservatory programs such as NYC's The Neighborhood Playhouse; blog for theater & arts publications; and are making their marks in all sorts of of production & performance media.
